About Andrea

I grew up around art and plants - from my grandparents' fruit orchard, my mother's art studio, to exploring the sprawling trails and plant communities all over California.  These passions have grown with me to the present where I get to share them everyday in my work.

I'm an ISA certified arborist (since '08), hold a degree in horticulture, and I have over 15 years of experience in the field- collaborating with talented landscape architects, contractors, and horticulture professionals including many veterans of the ecological and sustainable landscaping movement in Santa Cruz and Bay Area. We have also recently been recognized locally with award winning gardens and featured projects on several garden tours, including the San Diego Horticultural Society's spring garden tour. I speak regularly on topics such as rainwater harvesting, pollinator and wildlife habitats, garden art workshops, and garden design basics.

Currently based in San Diego, I have worked on projects and collaborations all over California.  I am very active in the community with social and environmental justice, Slow Food, habitat restoration, placemaking and art communities - volunteering with local organizations, committees & boards, including APLD San Diego where I served two years as president, and am the current communications chair.  I love giving back while getting involved and plan to do more as my business continues to grow. I bring passion for nature connection, cohesive functional design and colorful whimsy into all my associated projects.
